Q&A with Samantha Hahn
How long have you been an illustrator and how did you get your start?
About 5 years. I’ve been drawing and painting all my life so it was natural to study illustration in college. After that I painted a ton, went to grad school, spent a few years finding myself artistically and my niche in the market and then putting the pedal to the metal, so to speak, just getting my work out there and making “IT” happen.
What do you love most about your job?
That I get to paint and draw for a living with a range of clients and companies and publications I admire.
What is your personal style in three words?
form follows function
Who is your favorite style icon past & present?
My favorite style icon of the past is probably Jane Birkin. She was so effortlessly chic. Currently there are too many to mention. I love pursuing street style blogs and Pinterest and am often dazzled by New Yorkers just being themselves and express who they are through their personal style.
